Comprehension & Critical Thinking:

*Up in Smoke

- Students will analyze the "Kick Butts Day" organized by a Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids every April

- Students will evaluate multiple statistics regarding smoking and it's effects

- Students will analyze the effects on high exposure to smoking in movies and how kids are three times more likely to try smoking than those with less exposure

- Students will create a final presentation on their knowledge at the end of their research in order to show their comprehension and critical thinking skills

Math:

*Math's Mate Term 4 Sheet 3 due Friday!

Chapter 11: Measurement

Read & React:

American Revolution Novel Studies

*Student's will be focusing on using socratic seminars to study the text closely in advance, listen actively, share ideas and questions in response to the ideas and questions of others, and search for evidence in the text to support their ideas.

Betsy Zane, the Rose of Fort Henry

*Student's will be focusing on cultural diversity, courage, family, and gender roles during the late 1700s

*Student's will be focusing on summarizing and making connections

Creative Writing:
