Read Aloud: Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library by: Chris Grabenstein
*Discussion Questions:
- In his essay, Kyle writes, "Using a library can make learning about anything ( and everything) fun. When you're in a library researching a topic, you're on a scavenger hunt, looking for clues and prizes in books instead of your attics or backyard." In your opinion, is doing research fun? Explain why/why not. How is researching a topic like doing a scavenger hunt?

Zebra on the Loose Interviews
*Students will be given multiple fictional interviews about a zebra on the loose. They will collect as much information as they can from the interviews they read and then create a newspaper article based on their findings using text evidence.
Exploration:
Essential Question: How have places and regions in the United States been influenced by the physical geography of North America over time?
*Students will be briefly overviewing all 5 regions in the United States to prepare for breakout sessions between Mrs. Howard and our class so they can dive deeper into the Regions they are interested in the most
President Research Project
*Students will be researching a president/vice president of their choice and then will be given three options on how they can present their research. Their research will begin this week.
