Design Thinking Challenge: Special Olympics
Purpose: Specifically foster students' developing sense of empathy, and overall to learn about design thinking. Students will learn to immerse themselves in learning from experts.
Math:
*STAR Math Assessment will be Friday as we were unable to begin this assessment last week.
Chapter 1: PLACE VALUE

- During this time, students will be given real world situations to solve where they will need to apply their math skills to show they can apply the taught skills inside and outside of school.
Literacy:
***NOTE FOR PARENTS: All DLI packets will be due each week along with a paragraph written by your student showing they can apply the skills practiced in the packet. They will not have DLI Tests this year although I will be collecting their paragraphs each month to assess their skills.
*Vocab Packets won't be given until next week as I will be assessing where your child is at throughout the first week of school to ensure they are having their studies personalized to their needs
*STAR Reading Assessment - Monday
*Please make sure your child has their Out of My Mind novel as soon as possible if they do not have it already. We began reading this novel last week and will start incorporating practicing comprehension skills while coding text at each students' individual levels throughout the next couple of weeks.
