Hi! I'm Ms. Morgan!

I am thrilled that you will be in my class this year! Together, we will learn many new concepts from each other as well as knowing how to be a natural problem solver and innovator. This is my fourth year teaching elementary education and my third year teaching 5th grade at Heritage Elementary. I love teaching 5th grade as we will get to learn about multiplying and dividing fractions, human body systems, American History (such as the American Revolution) and lots more!

I am very passionate about teaching all subjects, though math is my favorite. I also enjoy using technology as much as I can. In fact, you can check out our classroom blog weekly at http://dmmorgan14.wix.com/dmmorgan1 throughout the school year to stay up to date with your families on what we're doing in class.

I believe it is important to work together as a classroom family. We will be spending a lot of time together so it is critical to treat each other with empathy, kindness, and compassion. I know that each of you have a different brain which means that you think and learn differently. It is my job as your teacher to help you grow as a learner and as a person of good character.

Want to know a little bit about me? When I'm not grading papers or planning innovative lessons, you can find me at the gym or spending time with family and friends. Staying healthy is a large part of my life along with staying close to the people I love and care about. I try to spend a lot of time outdoors - it's my favorite place to be! Traveling is definitely a hobby of mine. This summer, I went to Sarasota, FL to visit my dad (photo below) along with San Diego for an eventful end to my summer.

I grew up in Parker, CO and can't see myself living anywhere else but Colorado. I went to Ponderosa High School all four years and then moved to Greeley, CO for four years to pursue my love of working with kids. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012 and got my first job teaching Pre-K at a private school in Castle Pines the week I graduated.

I can't wait to meet you and your family at Lemonade on the Lawn, August 4th from 3:30-5:30. It would be great if you can bring your school supplies that night so we are ready to go on the first day of school. While buying your school supplies, please keep in mind that we will be sharing most of our supplies with each other so I suggest not buying items that are specific to you. Have a great rest of your summer and I'll see you in a couple of weeks!

Best wishes,

Ms. Morgan
